Tell us about your family.
I am adopted by my grandmother who, I believe, God placed in my life to share the gospel with me. I learned about my adoption a age 11, but I never once felt ashamed or upset about the news. I was given a mom who loves me unconditionally, just like Jesus.
Why did you become a teacher?
I had been praying to God for direction and guidance when I was a senior in high school. I had a feeling that I should become a teacher because I had always loved teaching. Some of my favorite memories in school were with some of my favorite teachers. I had a love for learning and a love for exploring with those of the same mindset. I received confirmation from God about where to go when my pastor's wife asked me to teach Sunday school. To me, that was God answering my prayer and telling me to follow in that path. This is the perfect job for me. I love what I do, and I love who I get to do it with.
What are your interests outside of work?
I have been a youth leader at Crystal River Church of God since 2013. I have been attending that church since 2007. I am very involved there and not only work with youth, but I run a small group with middle school girls, work the camera department, and have a calling to work in media ministry. I have made several videos for our youth department and some for our church in general. In my spare time, I like to write on my blog or read a good book. I like going to the gym and especially hanging with my friends.
