Tell us about your family.
I am married to Monica, who is a first-grade teacher here at SRCS. We have two adult children who graduated from SRCS, Nathan and Ainsley. Nathan recently got married to our new daughter-in-law, Avalon. Our family is growing!
Who was an influential teacher for you, and why?
Mr. Wells was one of my high school history teachers for several courses. His influence centered around his instruction of history and his ability to connect to his students. Some of the things that he routinely said to me as a student, I find myself saying to my students.
What is your favorite course to teach, and why?
I love teaching Bible because I get to show students some of the ways in which God has revealed his love for us through the various stories in Scripture.
What do you most enjoy about your job?
I enjoy getting to know the students. My dual role as Assistant Grammar Principal and Upper School Bible teacher gives me the privilege to interact with students in Kindergarten through 7th grade. It is a blessing to watch them grow up and then teach them in 7th grade.
What is a favorite SRCS memory?
My favorite memory involves my time as an assistant football coach. My son was a senior, and the team had just lost our playoff game, the last game the seniors would play together. All the players and coaches were emotional. It was not about losing the game; it was the fact that the journey we had made together was coming to an end. It was a beautiful moment to experience as a team. Being a part of Warrior athletics is about the relationships developed more than the particular sport itself.
