Tell us about your family.
I have been married to Erin since 2016, and we have three kids -- Ellie (2017), Kuyper (2019), and Henri (2022). We moved to Florida in 2023. I am originally from Mexico City and my wife is from Iowa, so in the summer, we spend a couple of weeks in each place visiting extended family.
Why did you become a teacher?
Both my parents were teachers. My mom taught elementary school, and my dad was a college professor. While attending college, I also worked as a part-time teacher.
Who was an influential teacher for you, and why?
In my last year of college, Mr. Osvaldo taught us about the economy and culture of various countries around the world. He was a teacher who was both smart and kind.
What are your interests outside of work?
I love teaching the elementary school kids at church, and I also lead a men's Bible Study. I love to go swimming and watch movies with my kids.
What is your favorite course to teach, and why?
Bible, since it is the foundation for every other subject.
