Why did you become a teacher?
In the 5th grade, I knew I wanted to be a teacher.  I would take my lunch time and work in the Kindergarten classroom of a teacher who eventually became my mentor, my boss, and my friend.  She shared with me so many ways to help children developmentally.  I loved to watch her teach them and loved working one-on-one with them.  My love for teaching continued through high school, and I went to a college that prepared me to be a teacher with a strong biblical world and life view.  I love teaching and enjoy coming to work every day.  I love watching little ones grow and learn.  I also love sharing Jesus with them in every aspect of learning.
Who was an influential teacher for you, and why?
My father was one of my most influential teachers.  He lived what he taught.  He taught all seniors at our high school a course on Christian dating and marriage.  I learned through his example and teaching what a godly marriage looked like.  He showed me what a godly husband is.  He was a shepherd to our family.  He loved my mom and was her gardener.  I am so thankful that God gave me a husband who loves the Lord.  My father mentored and counseled us before we were married and taught us how to work through conflicts, the role of the husband and wife, and how to start a Christian family.  We still receive wise counsel from my dad even after 27 years of marriage.
Tell us about your family.
I have a very strong and rich godly heritage.  My parents have been in ministry for over 50 years and have been married for 58 years.  My husband's parents have been married for 64 years.  My husband and I have been married for 27 years, and we have three children, two of whom are grown.  Those two are looking for mates who will partner with them to serve the Lord.  Our youngest is a senior at SRCS and is seeking God's direction in where she is to go to college and what God would have her do in ministry.  She is also looking for a godly husband who will be like her grandfathers and her father.  This year she is taking the course my father created on building a healthy marriage.  I am so pleased with how SRCS is partnering with our family to help her learn the biblical roles of marriage and family.
