Tell us about your family.
I have been married to my wonderful husband, Tracy, since 1986. We are blessed to have two amazing girls, Alexandra and Meili.
What is your favorite subject to teach, and why?
My favorite subject to teach is reading. I remember going into a library when I was a little girl and just loving the way the books smelled! My father used to get so frustrated with me because I could spend an entire day reading! My deepest hope is that I can inspire a love for reading in my children. There is nothing more exciting than when children are finally able to blend sounds and read their first words. I love the self confidence that just seems to explode from children when they discover that they can read a book on their own.
What are your interests outside of work?
I love spending time with my family. We live near a trail, and you can often find us biking or walking. I also enjoy boating, kayaking, and floating on a tube. I love cheering for my girls when they play sports, reading a good book, and going to church.
