Secondary Education

With its 5:1 student to faculty ratio, Seven Rivers Christian School is small enough to elicit
a special bond between teachers and students, as well as between the students themselves.
Despite the smallness that SRCS incorporates to assure top quality leadership and excellence,
it is large enough to facilitate a full range of classes and activities. Most secondary students participate in a variety of activities that intertwine grade levels, allowing friendship to reach beyond their classroom. This helps prevent students from disappearing into the crowd. The faculty promotes personal and educational self-responsibility, knowing that freedom and the respect underlying it, are valuable in preparing high school students for college and the adult world.

Corporate Tax Credit Scholarship

We participate in the Corporate Tax Credit Scholarship program administered by Step Up For Students. This program provides need based assistance of $3,950.00 per student to qualified students. Students must be coming from a Florida public school or entering kindergarten or first grade to qualify for this program. Current household income guidelines and applications are available on the Step Up For Students website linked above.

Seven Rivers Christian School does not participate in the McKay Scholarship program.

International Students

I-20 Form

The Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) has approved and certified Seven Rivers Christian School to issue the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) I-20 form for nonimmigrant F-1 students. Prospective international students must apply and be accepted for admissions into SRCS before the I-20 can be issued. Please see the above Admission Process and applications that must be submitted for admission into SRCS.

I-901 Form

There is a SEVIS fee for all international students. This fee is to be paid after the admissions process has been completed and the student has received the SEVIS I-20 form from SRCS.

By using the internet, students are required to go to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Web site, www.fmjfee.com, to complete the I-901 form and pay a $100 (U.S. Dollars) fee.

Because completing the SEVIS I-901 form requires the SEVIS number and school code number, the I-901 form and fee cannot be processed and paid until the prospective student receives the SEVIS I-20 from SRCS. This fee does not replace the fee charged by the embassy for an appointment. Prospective students have two separate fees: one pays for the I-901 fee, and the other fee pays for the embassy interview. These fees are in addition to the SRCS registration and application fee.

Community Service

All students in grades 9-12 are required to participate in a Community Service program. Each student must complete a minimum of 20 hours (including 3 hours of on campus stewardship) of community service during each school year. Each year, the 20-hour requirement must be fulfilled before second semester final exams and any student who has not met the requirement will not be permitted to take his/her final exams. Missed final exams will be made up during the first summer school session, pending completion of the community service requirement. Graduating seniors must also fulfill this requirement in order to receive their high school diploma.

College Entrance Exams

PSAT (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test) — The PSAT is mandatory for sophomores and elective for juniors. It is a preliminary training for the SAT. The PSAT is also used to select students for National Merit Scholarships. Thus, it is not only a helpful practice, but for the gifted student who does well, it can be a means of obtaining recognition for college scholarships. Students generally register for the SAT and ACT during their junior and senior year.
