About Seven Rivers Christian School (SRCS)
Founded in 1988, Seven Rivers Christian School is an independent, college-preparatory school serving 341 students in grades PreK – 12. SRCS provides a robust academic program in an environment where the Reformed Christian faith forms the foundation for all learning.

Community
Citrus County is a rural, residential, small town community on the west central coast of Florida, 70 miles north of Tampa. SRCS provides education for several small communities and isolated residential areas representing a population with diverse cultural backgrounds.

Affiliation and Governance
SRCS is an educational ministry of Seven Rivers Presbyterian Church. The school is governed by a Board of Directors appointed by the Session of the church and is accountable to and under the authority of the Session, as are all ministries of the church.

Accreditation and Memberships
SRCS is accredited by Christian Schools of Florida, the National Council for Private School Accreditation, and Southern Association of Colleges and Schools/AdvancEd. SRCS is recognized by the Florida Association of Academic Nonpublic Schools and is a member school of the Florida High School Athletic Association.

Calendar
SRCS operates on a 36-week calendar, consisting of four (4) nine-week grading periods for the grammar school and two (2) semesters for the upper school. For all major holidays and events, please refer to the 2011 - 2012 calendar, linked on the News page, for details.

School Hours
Preschool (PK3-PK4): 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (or 2:30 p.m. optional)
Grammar School (K-6): 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Upper School (7-12): 8:00 a.m. – 2:45 p.m.

Students may be dropped off at the gymnasium as early as 7:45 a.m. Grammar students should be picked up by 2:45 and upper school students by 3:00. Students who are not involved in a supervised after-school activity and are not picked up in a timely manner will be supervised by an SRCS teacher until picked up by their parents. A charge of $5.00 per 15-minute increment of supervised time will be billed to the student's account.

Uniform Dress Code
School attire is available through Sunshine School Uniform. The SRCS uniform dress code is intended to be a practical, simple, and standardized expression of the principles of neatness and modesty. We believe that standardized guidelines result in fewer distractions for teachers and students and, therefore, provide an environment most conducive to the learning process.

Middle School (Grades 7-8): 52 students; 71% female, 29% male
High School (Grades 9-12): 84 students; 52% female, 48% male

Ethnic Makeup: 85% Caucasian, 5% African American, 2% Asian, 3% Hispanic, 2% Bi-racial, and 2% Other

Communication
SRCS strives to keep parents and students informed at all levels. K-5 classes provide a weekly newsletter containing school-wide information, schoolwork from the previous week, and a variety of flyers addressing upcoming school opportunities. Also, daily email announcements are sent to all school families.

SRCS subscribes to RenWeb, a comprehensive K-12 student information system for online school and class information. Teachers, parents, and students have their own accounts to access class information, grades, assignments, and general school information.

Tuition Assistance
In 2010-11, SRCS is providing $218,000 in tuition assistance to K-12 students. SRCS participation in the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship program provides another $220,000 in tuition assistance. A total of 96 students (34% of K-12 students) receive financial assistance totaling $438,000.
