Tell us about your family.
I am married to Monica, who is a Kindergarten teacher here at SRCS, and we have two children.

Who was an influential teacher for you, and why?
Mr. Bass was my 4th grade teacher.  He was my first male teacher, and that, in and of itself, was a needed thing.  The validation that came from his presence in my life and interaction with me was invaluable.

What is your favorite course to teach, and why?
I love to teach American history.  Any type of history tells the story of people who are just like me but living in a different time.  History allows us to see the sinfulness of man and the need we all have for a Savior.

What do you most enjoy about your job?
I enjoy the time spent with my students over the course of the school year.  We learn academic subjects, of course, but we also learn about our hearts and how desperately we need the love of the Father.  It is an awesome privilege to walk with them on that journey each year.

What is a favorite SRCS memory?
My favorite memory involves my time as an assistant coach on the football team.  My son was a senior, and we had just lost our playoff game, the last game the seniors would play together.  All the players and coaches were emotional.  It was not about losing a game; it was the fact that the journey we had made together was coming to an end.  It was a beautiful moment to experience as a team.  Being a part of Warrior athletics is about the relationships that are developed more than the particular sport itself.
