Dear School Family,

Thanks to your cooperation and support this has been one of the most uneventful school starts in recent memory.  Here are a couple of reminders, as we all get into the school routine:

The back to school picnic was a huge success – to the point of having a drink and food shortage.  Glad you guys came out.  I loved seeing students hugging and happy to see each other.  Many thanks to Lisa Andes – the mastermind - and Jay Ebert – the grill master – for their help.

The first headmaster’s class was a rousing success with about 40 in attendance.  The class concludes tomorrow night.  We will offer the class again in January.  Please note that all new families must attend.

Tomorrow we have the privilege of hosting a Student Leadership Conference presented by Passing the Baton and sponsored by Christian Schools of Florida.  Over 60 high school students will be on our campus to learn from Dr. Jeff Myers from Bryan College and president of Passing the Baton.  And just around the corner is the annual junior/senior retreat.

The fall sports season is underway with student-athletes competing in golf, volleyball, cross country and soccer.  Check out the website for scheduling information and come out to support the Warriors.  Set a side Oct. 22, 2007 for the WC Golf Marathon.  More information will be coming out shortly on this major fundraiser. This is a great time to join the Warrior Club too!

Just received a note from Belize that Felix missed!  Praise God for that, I was starting to wonder if Jean Giles was a hurricane magnet.

It isn’t too early to start thinking about a donation to the annual fund.  Last years’ expenditures exhausted our reserves and cash is a bit tight.  Why not make your contribution in September or October instead of December?

Improving campus security is always a priority; to that end we have installed new warning horns on the outside of the educational buildings.  Several of us will attend a school safety workshop at the end of this month that is sponsored by Christian Schools of Florida.

 Blessings,

Joel
