Friends,
Like the Energizer Bunny, she keeps going and going … Major props to 7th grader Chloe Benoist who qualified for the state cross country meet – keep her running Coach Kitchen.
This past weekend, about twenty faculty members attended the SRPC Leadership Institute and the weekend before that; a bunch attended a technology workshop. Our faculty members are committed to getting better at their craft.
I am so proud of Lisa Andes and her work as president of SCF. Her team is working to build community among the families of Seven Rivers Christian School. On Wednesday afternoon, November 28th (that is a half day), the SCF is sponsoring the first ever Christmas craft day for parents and students. See Edline and the Web site for more information and the registration form. Also, they are planning a family movie night before we break for the holidays.
Welcome home to our missionaries to the “Land of the Rising Sun.” Aside from the experience of eating squid on a stick and the crowded nature of Tokyo, they returned in good shape and are telling of meeting God there. I love when our students get to experience other cultures. To that end, SRPC offers a number of mission opportunities this summer.
Progress continues toward improving campus security – we expect to have a plan in hand for exterior fencing and other improvements immediately following the Thanksgiving break. We are also making progress on re-tooling our student discipleship plan.
Thanksgiving provides opportunities for reflection on God’s provision and love for us. Sometimes He meets our needs through other people. Perhaps this week is a good time to recall and even thank a teacher or mentor who impacted your life.
At SRCS, we are thankful for those who have provided specific tuition funds for families who otherwise wouldn’t be at our school. It is also when we begin to focus on our annual fund needs. Please consider a financial gift to our school toward our annual fund need of $247,000.
Please remember those travelling next week and enjoy time with family.
Blessings,
Joel
